It's A Good Sign If the Media Calls US!!

For the second year in a row, Flower Bar has been lucky enough for a media outlet to call US asking to promote our business for Valentine's Day! Last year we had the pleasure of appearing on FOX's Good Day Atlanta, to show off our Valentine's Day specials and host an "Anchor Challenge" where each of the news anchors attempted a floral design of their own. It was great fun and we got a lot of attention for it.

THIS YEAR we are partnering with Atlanta's popular radio station 92.9 Dave FM (a CBS Radio station). Listen all week from Saturday Feb 7th to Saturday Feb 14th for our $50 gift certificate giveaways! Flower Bar will also be sponsoring the music played over the weekend!

Comcast films Flower Bar for "Best of the City" On Demand Channel

Last week we were thrilled to participate in a video shoot for Comcast's On Demand channel called "Best of the City."

Best of the City features local businesses in the "Dining & Food," "Clubs & Entertainment," "Style & Shopping," "Kids & Family Fun," and "Best of the Rest." Flower Bar will be in the Best of the Rest category, and our video will be running for up to three months!

Stay tuned for more information. This programming is expected to begin in October, but we will be sure to announce the official launch!!

While it might not be the most professional photo I've ever taken (of a decal on our front door), I'm proud to announce that we've been put on the Citysearch "Best Of 2008" list for florists....again this year!

We're Growing Like a Weed!

I am so thrilled to announce we've grown...Again! Last week our new production space was completed. The new space is in the building just behind our shop at Irwin Street Market, and it's where we'll create the magic for our larger events, and holiday volume.

We also just purchased a fabulous van (in great condition!) from another florist whom I admire very much! Chuck Henry is a idol in my eyes, his talent is vast and his work has adorned the main entrance of the Southeastern Flower Show the last two years. After taking a director position at the SEFS, Chuck doesn't need the van as much, and I'm happy to adopt it....mojo and all!

Women In The City- Atlanta INtown Newspaper

All the Ladies of Irwin Street Market were featured on the cover of Atlanta INtown magazine in their March issue!!

Twice a year they do a "Women In The City" issue which features business women in metro Atlanta. They came to interview the various vendors at the Market where Flower Bar shares a roof, and decided to put us on the cover! We were completely surprised.

Along with the honors, we were invited to Executive Editor Susan Soper's home for a luncheon celebrating all the Women In the City who were featured. It was a lovely affair, and Flower Bar is grateful to have been included.

Jezebel February 2008

Good Day Atlanta...in the studio this time

Flower Bar supplied the flowers for Good Day Atlanta's anchor challenge on February 13th. Mark, Sachita, Cheryl and Jeff each created their own arrangements on set, demonstrating designs for Valentine's Day, other than roses.

At the end of the show, we came in to critique their work and show our versions of the tulip, lily, tropicals and candied carnation bouquets. The anchors did a great job, and proved once again that everyone has fun arranging flowers (see info on our workshops!).

Thank you again to the amazing Amanda Leesburg for getting us the coverage. We truly appreciate you! Thanks also to Jan, Toren and the GDA anchors....we had a blast!
