Birthday at Napoleon's Grill, Decatur

Happy Birthday Nancy!  Nancy is a wildly creative business owner, mother, and realtor/renovator extraordinaire.  When we got the call for birthday flowers from her husband, who owns Napoleon's Grill, we knew we needed to do something artsy and pretty for her birthday dinner.


We made two pieces for the occasion. The one above features a pink ice protea with pink ranunculus, yellow yarrow, white dahlias and lime green yoko ono's.

Her other arrangement has two mini pink hydrangeas added to the vibrant spring flowers.

Nancy's birthday dinner was at Napoleon's. Napoleon’s is a lively, upscale “Food Focused Pub” that features a creative and affordable menu. Bloom Floral Design + Flower Bar = Jessica Wedding

I am blessed to have several other floral designers and shop owners as trusted friends and colleagues in the industry.  When we see each other at the wholesalers, there are always friendly hellos and supportive chats exchanged.  There have been occasions where we've pitched in to help each other out, with an unusually large order, or even an emergency.  I am always happy to help, and I am so grateful to know I have backup in return, if I ever need it.

This past weekend, I helped the talented Cathy Brim of Bloom Floral Design, who had a scheduling conflict with a surgery.  After a quick two-piece graduation ceremony order, I focused on her Saturday wedding at Decatur First Methodist Church.

 
Cathy gets all the credit for consulting with the Bride and choosing the flowers to use, I just put them together. :)

The Wedding party bouquets had white roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, chamomile, mint, rosemary and dusty miller.


I love these corsage and boutonniere boards! What a great way to transport and display personal flowers.


Everything else was used in the two large ceremony arrangements below. Tall multi-bloom cymbidium stems, larkspur, stock, roses, chamomile and babies breath, finished off with some dusty miller.  These pieces were to be moved and repurposed at the reception, held at Whahoo Grill. I know Pam who owns Whahoo. She and her staff are easy to work with, and their Private Garden Tent is an absolutely wonderful setting for a wedding reception, or any other event!

Kayla's Lavendar Bridal Bouquet

One of my favorite things to do is to put together a last minute bridal bouquet.  We had a two day notice on this one. It was an intimate affair at a family restaurant, so they just needed a Bridal Bouquet and the Groom's Boutonniere.

Of the many purple/lavender weddings we've been doing recently, this romantic hand tied bouquet is one of my new favorites. I find it simple and refreshing, just like Spring.

Sunflower Bridal Bouquet

Here is Karen's bridal bouquet for an outdoor wedding this past weekend.  Sometimes as a florist, no make that A LOT of times as a florist, I am more concerned with getting everything done just right, that I don't stop to take photos of anything I've created.  Then I hope I can remember to catch up to the photographer or bride at a later date to get the actual professional photos of our flowers.  In this case, this is the ONLY photo I took :-)

Guess I'll put this wedding party on the list for photo follow up!  Their flowers also included.....

Bridesmaid bouquets with sunflowers and red roses, hypericum, solidago, brunio berry, freesia and more, as well as 22 mason jars with lily grass, sunflowers and hypericum berry- bouts corsages and buffet arrangements.

I did want to share this venue with you, as it looks soooooo COOL. The 5 Star Lodge, located in Ellijay. These are photos from the website....our bride's family picked up all their flowers to bring the Ellijay about 1 1/2 hours away. We are anxiously awaiting to see how everything looked decorated.  Happy Wedding!

Beverly and Soto Wedding

On a beautiful October 4th afternoon, Beverly and Soto got married. Her colors were purples and eggplant.  This was our first time working with photographer Courtney Goldman, and we were so impressed with her great photography....and how quickly she posted a sneak peak video on her website.  The following images are from Courtney Goldman photography.

Cypress Pint & Plate Occasions and General Decor

We love these little vases!  Last week we received a last minute request to make 10 "very small" arrangements for a rehearsal brunch at Cypress Street Pint And Plate. Their table linens were white so they wanted something bright and cheery.

 

In these 3" rectangular vases, we used purple monte casino, yellow viking poms, orange ranunculus, hot pink spray roses and our favorite greenery, bupleurum.
