Kevin and Michele Wedding

This weekend, in the midst of the Mother's Day holiday, we had the pleasure of doing the flowers for Kevin and Michele's Atlanta wedding.  They had two ceremonies, one at Sandy Plains Baptist Church and the other at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, while wrapping up with a reception celebration at the wonderful Whitlock Inn (one of our favorite venues)!

Photos from Forrest Aguar are forthcoming...but we couldn't wait, so here are some phone photos!

First, the Bride...... although this was only the dress she was wearing to get ready, it just happened to look great with the fuchsia and pinks in her bouquet.  She requested a variety of pinks with petally flowers and cascading ivy.

Below are some examples of her birdcage table centerpieces for reception.  We used pretty roses with pink stock, dahlia, hydrangea, lisianthus and cymbidium orchids with ivy and hypericum berry.

The birdcage centerpieces were staggered with these pretty centerpieces in glass cylinders on every other table.  Again we used the same collection of flowers for the tables.

And for the Buffet table.....

We are really looking forward to seeing the photos from Forret Aguar, once they are done. And we will patiently wait to see the rest of this pretty wedding, including the bridesmaid bouquets, adorable flower girls, the lil ring man, cake flowers and more.  Please check back soon!

Stephanie and Joshua wedding

Stephanie and Joshua had a lovely September wedding at the Trolley Barn. It rained and it poured but they made the best of a beautiful celebration.  Their theme was to use 30+ milk glass containers (all a little different), and use collections of the flower arrangements with books, candles and picture frames to make their table centerpieces.

Above is a photo of a few of the milk glass containers sent to us by the Bride and Groom.  The next photo is how they looked after we filled them with pretty petally orange roses and spray roses, with purple stock, scabiosa, veronica and lisianthus. We also used bupleurum and ming greenery to give it the delicate antique touch.

Above a final result for one of the tables.  Each table had different looking pictures frame and milk glass containers.  Her grandmother wrapped candle votives in lace to add to the vintage look.

And above are bouquet shots for the Bride and Bridesmaids.

Trolley Barn is right in our neighborhood and one of our favorite venues for events.  We know their rules and how they like the set up to go.  If you are considering hosting an event in the Inman Park neighborhood, we recommend the Trolley Barn!

Jahaya and Dan wedding

A beautiful bride name Jahaya met with me earlier this year.  Her wedding was in June, and she liked purples and she knew her budget, but that was about all she had worked out regarding her flowers.  We had a nice chat and she basically gave me creative reign to do whatever I thought would be pretty....a designers dream!

Jahaya got married at Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, which was a beautiful setting for her very large wedding, which included 15 bridesmaids!

The photographer for this particular wedding never got back to me, so we have to rely on a couple of camera phone photos...which are posted now.  The bridal bouquet is made of purple and cream roses, purple lisianthus and hydrangea.  She also had 30 table centerpieces in a variety of large silver containers.  Some of those are posted below.

For the centerpieces we used big beautiful hydrangea, lavender and purple stock, white lily and snapdragons, liatris, bells of ireland and roses...

Jahaya also invited me to attend the wedding and help coordinate. Below was the beginning of my delicious meal and a well deserved cocktail :-)

Hard Rock Cafe's Annual Ambassador Day for Children's Healthcare

Flower Bar was pleased to be a part of Hard Rock Cafe's annual Ambassador Day this year.  Each year, our friend Patty a.k.a "Sunshine" throws a big party for the Children from various children's hopitals around Atlanta, for her birthday.  She gives up her birthday to coordinate quite an affair, transporting the children from hospitals to the Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta where they can enjoy a day of fun. Volunteers, local musicians and sports team mascots come in to care for, and entertain, children from Children's Health Care of Atlanta, Egleston Hospital and Scottish Rite Hospital.  This year, we donated the flowers for the table tops and VIP Ambassador breakfast.

We did 20 centerpieces, each a little different. and wanted something happy for the children, so we included bright gerbera daisies, butterflies and birds.

Flower Bar worked in conjunction with Emory Village Flowers, which is located just down the street from Children's Health Care in Atlanta.  I now manage the day-to-day operations of this shop, and can take daily delivery orders through this business.  If you have a wedding or special event, you should still call Flower Bar at 404-641-0590, but if you have a one time flower delivery give us a call at Emory Village at 404-378-3900 and ask for Amber.  You will automatically get a free upgrade and discount on your delivery fee!

Here's a holiday decorating project at the WSB TV and Radio (COX Media Group) headquarters. We used a cherry picker lift to decorate the tree and hang the wreaths!
