Budget friendly table centerpieces- Floataway Cafe

This week we did flowers for a wonderful woman's 90th birthday dinner party.  Her friends came in to ask about flowers for their tables at the Floataway Cafe.  I've been to this restaurant many times- its airy, cozy and relaxing atmosphere is a great spot to host an intimate affair.

We didn't have a large budget for the tables, but they wanted something "sweet and pretty".  I suggested doing a collection of bud vases on the main table and the side tables, and they loved the idea!  This fit their lower end budget, but even more exciting-- it gave each guest an opportunity to bring a bud vase home with them after dinner.

The birthday girl wanted mostly soft pinks and peaches.  Here's what we did......

We used veronica, roses, stock flower, lisianthus, variegated pittosporum, hypericum berries and spray roses.

My photos came from my phone again, so they are not fantastic photos.  My point of posting was to emphasize that you don't need a big budget to make an impact!  Try using collections of different sized vases or containers and do a little something different in each one.  This makes for interesting aesthetics, and gives your guest a nice parting gift after the party!

Beth and Michael Wedding

Once again we had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for a Bride and Groom at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in June. Callanwolde is one of the most popular and photographed locations in Atlanta, and is a unique wedding venue. Located in Atlanta’s Druid Hills neighborhood, the magnificent 27,000 square ft. Gothic-Tudor style mansion is situated on a 12.5-acre estate of beautifully landscaped gardens and wooded grounds and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Michael and Beth had an intimate affair at the Sam Goldman Retreat Building located on the Callanwolde property.

Their wonderful photographer, Donna Permell of Prime Phocus was kind enough to send some early photos from the event. Click on her website to learn more about her photography!

Our Bride Beth wanted simply stated elegance, with beautiful burnt orange mini calla lilies for her bridal bouquet and orange roses with pale blue hydrangea for the table centerpieces.

Here's a sneak peek at her flowers.....

Mango Calla Lily Bridal Bouquet
We love the lighting and color in these photos!

There were just seven tables to decorate, each with their own version of pale blue hydrangea and a collection of orange roses including "Santana," "Orange Unique" and "Versillia." These came in a clear glass cube vase with a sprig of looped lily grass.

Beth and Michael contacted us just one month before their wedding....which we don't mind at all!  We tend to get quite a few last minute weddings requests from those who are finishing final details, as well as those who plan far in advance.  Either way, we are thrilled to be a part of each special occasion, and enjoy working with Brides to make their wedding flower dreams come true...whether that's for a large event or an intimate affair.

Flower Bar would love to hear from you about your special event or wedding.  Just email us at flowerbar@gmail.com, visit our Flower Bar Website or click on our Facebook page.
